“Blood for the Blood God!”

Over and over as the ocean of chaos cultists chanted, surrounding the last bastion of the Emperor’s loyal servants. Within the chapel’s walls stood a meager handful of people daring enough to stand against the onslaught of the chaos forces, among them were Father Freghius and two Sisters of Battle, as well as Inquisitor Sand accompanied by his cadre of acolytes. After making their final peace with the Emperor and themselves, they each took their place in front of the massive church doors forming a final line of resistance before the chaotic horde enveloped them whole. As Mir took his place along side his master and charge Sand, the chanting stopped. A few moments later “BOOM!”… “BOOM!”… Something massive was beating down the doors to the chapel and soon the doors would give exposing the loyalists to their supposed executioners. With one last strike the doors exploded into shards and fragments showering the line of loyalists, exposing a truly fearsome sight of a Herald of Khorne riding a massive Juggernaut flanked by the transcendent form of Governor Caniz hefting a massive ax displaying a living eye in the center of it.
In awe of what he saw, Mir has never seen such foul creatures whose soul purpose was to destroy every last living thing and bath in its blood. As if frozen under the gaze of the axe’s eye, Mir could only stand there unable to move a muscle as the massive demon known as Raymundo strode forward to the line, mocking them all for daring to stand against him and his forces. Selecting Bahaum as the target of his ridicule, the demon drew himself closer to Bahaum till he was only a arms length away. Finishing his goading of Bahaum the demon gave him a massive kick to the chest causing Bahaum to fly backwards crashing into the alter that in-cased the long dead corpse of Saint Infrium. Throwing back his head in laughter of Bahaum, the demon adverted the gaze of his ax causing the group and Mir to be freed from it’s transfixing gaze.
Seizing the moment, Mir drew back his sword and struck at the demon with every ounce of strength his body could lend him. Catching the demon off guard, Mir struck blow after mighty blow on the demon causing it to give a mighty roar of pain. Reeling back from the sudden attack the demon quickly regained its posture and locked its sights on Crusader Mir. Unleashing a series of attacks in kind on Mir, the shear force of the blows battering against Mir shield causing his knees to nearly buckle and shake, as well as knock the wind from his lungs. Distracted for a brief moment the demon adverted his attention to another member of the loyalist group giving Mir the time he needed to fill his lungs once more with air and strike back at his foe. With a final series of blows, Mir was finally able to land the killing blow on the demon known as Raymundo. Pulling his sword from the heart of the demon, the demon fell to it’s knees then slumped over to it’s side to lay dead at the feet of the Crusader.
With the massive demon dead Mir looked around to his party only to find that they too had caused massive casualties to the demon forces. After the first wave of demons were defeated the remnants of the loyalists stood at the door only to see the sea of cultists and demons ready to pick up where the others had left off. Before Mir and the others could brace themselves for another wave, a bright searing light flashed in front of them and then disappeared as fast as it came leaving a squad of Grey Knights. The leader of the squad turned to face the Inquisitor only long enough to speak a few words and give a parting gift. A teleporter homer that instantly shunted the entire group less the Grey Knights to a ship waiting in orbit.
