Relictors Space Marine Characters Rules

Relictors are aggressive in their pursuit of Forbidden Knowledge and Artifacts and in the formulating of ways to use these against the enemies of the Imperium. As such, they must shield their minds from the dangers that they are often exposed to in their studies and experiences.
Relictors gain the following benefits: +5 Willpower and +5 Intelligence and gain the Warp Sensitive Solo Mode ability.

  • Warp Sensitive (Solo Mode Ability)
    Type: Active or a Full Action
    Required Rank: 1
    Effects: The Chapter’s members have been trained to spot minute disturbances of the Warp pressing in on realspace. This attunement to the empyrean grants the character the Psyniscience Skill as a Trained Skill. The Battle-Brother may also re-roll any failed Willpower Tests to resist a psychic power.

Use Their Tools Against Them
Use Their Tools Against Them is a Demeanor unique to Space Marines from the Relictors Chapter. Testing the boundaries of Heresy, the Relictors believe that all weapons, even those of the enemy (especially the most powerful ones, such as Daemon Weapons) must be studied, and even used, because they offer opportunity to bring death and destruction to the enemies of the Imperium. They do not take the danger of wielding these blasphemous items lightly and in fact, believe that this task should only be taken on by those with strong minds and the knowledge-base to do so. These beliefs have brought great scrutiny to the Chapter and in fact brought disastrous consequences to the Chapter via an Inquisition purge. Despite the damage the Chapter has suffered for its beliefs, its members still believe that they are right and they have found others, even in the Inquisition, that agree with them. In battle, and on missions, the Relictors look at the resources available to them from both friend and foe and analyze how to effectively and appropriately use these to complete the mission. Studying and learning as much as possible from all areas, even those that are proscribed, will only assist in the battle for Humanity’s survival.

  • RELICTORS ATTACK PATTERN:
    TACTICAL FINESSE
    Action: Full Action
    Cost: 3
    Sustained: Yes
    Effect: While this ability is in effect, the Battle-Brother and those within Support Range of him may make one Melee or Ranged Attack as a Half-Action (the Ranged Attack may only be made using the single shot rate of fire) and may then make a Half Move. A character benefiting from this ability may disengage from an opponent in melee without penalty.
    Improvements: This ability cannot be improved.
  • RELICTORS DEFENSIVE STANCE:
    KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
    Action: Half Action
    Cost: 3
    Sustained: Yes
    Effect: With knowledge of secret and forbidden lore, the Space Marines of the Relictors are able to more easily avoid sorcery and witchcraft. While under the effect of this ability, the Battle-Brother and any within Support Range of him receive a +10 bonus to any Tests made to resist the effects of a psychic power (this can include attempts to Dodge).
    Improvements: At Rank 4, this bonus increases to +20.
