Faith and Betrayal
Quint looked out the huge glass window overlooking the dimly lit street of one of many business districts located in the main hive city of Malfi. The streets were still busy despite the late hour- Administratum workers, merchants and citizens provided a steady flow of foot traffic amidst the various ground cars. He took a sip from his glass- the Amasec was high-quality and went down smooth with a sweet after taste. The man across the table from him was well-dressed with an expensive augmetic right eye. He was of noble features with a thin black mustache and an olive complexion- perhaps he hailed from Hive Tarsus on Scintilla? There was a seriousness about the man that hinted he was not one to be crossed. Quint was not yet intimidated, he had known many men of this type from his early days with the gangers and later in the Inquisition. The man rested easy sipping from his glass of Amasec, confident in his security- four nearby men stood close by watching Quint and the surrounding lounge.
“Friend Quartiz, I appreciate this news you bring me concerning Miss Nile’s disappearance. It’s a shame that such a tragic demise met her and she was unable to complete her task.” The man pulled a long silver-stemmed Ilho-stick holder from his coat and proceeded to light up a fresh stick and took a drag. “Now, I will admit that when word got to me about your inquires…I was a bit concerned. We take our business very seriously and discretion is very important. Noting that you have not gone to the authorities with your information shows that you are indeed a confident but cocky individual and could therefore be a boon or a bane to someone looking for people with special talents. That’s what this is- a business and a very lucrative one with many perks. If you are a person of laxed morale character then perhaps you may find employment in our organization. We are always looking for employees that are dedicated to the company and its work.”
